Our History
The Hooked on Miracles-KMT Committee will host the Annual Hooked on Miracles King Mackerel Tournament benefiting the new Shawn Jenkins MUSC Children’s Hospital. The 3-day King Mackerel tournament begins with a Captain’s meeting on Thursday, July 18th and will conclude with the King Mackerel Tournament on Saturday, July 20th. All events are hosted at the Ripley Light Yacht Club in Charleston, SC with an Awards Ceremony and Party following the weigh in.
The "Miracles" Tournament began in 1994, as a fun way to raise money for the MUSC Children’s Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Since its inception, approximately $1,000,000 in contributions have been shared between our beneficiaries from this Lowcountry event. That level of support would not be possible without sponsorship philanthropic efforts. Sponsor contributions are apportioned 100% for the direct allocation to our beneficiaries; sponsorship funds are not utilized for tournament administration purposes.
We would like to invite you to become a partner with Hooked on Miracles by taking advantage of the sponsorship opportunities available. Your participation effort allows our organization to re-establish "The Miracles - KMT” as part of the largest King Mackerel Fishing Tournament in the state. Historically, this event would host 200 plus fishing teams. In 2016, the tournament had 175 fishing teams participating , equating to over 700 anglers in attendance.
Along with the direct exposure at the 3 day tournament, your business will benefit through our website, Facebook and Instagram with logo recognition and direct links to your website; reaching thousands of potential customers. HOM-KMT is part of the Southern Kingfish Association (SKA) Division 3, exposing our tournament across it's tournament trail of 10 Divisions and dozens of partners (fishska.com). HOM-KMT is also a part of the Angler Armory Nation (anglerarmory.com)and it's "Fish What you Wish" zone 2 competing for a spot in the 2022 World Championship. This partnership also provides our tournament large exposure across the Southeast and Gulf coast with dozens of partners and associates.
